Top of the Summit: Tom Dargahi on Electronic Control Modules
In this week's Top of the Summit video, Tom Dargahi, founder of Nations Parts Corporation, helps us decode the mysteries of Electronic Control Modules (ECM). Dargahi began building his expertise in the space in the early 2000s when a customer came in with a unique request for a computer. From there, Dargahi invested time and money into refining and improving his computer offerings. And his efforts have paid off--he has 15 employees and more than 60,000 computers in stock. Watch this week's video to learn more about his experience:
Tom migrated from Iran to Sweden in 1985, and after arriving in the United States in 1991, started several businesses, including automobile sales. In 1995 he started Nations Parts Corp., in Houston, Texas. At the time, the business focused on rebuilding and selling alternators, starters and CV joints. After an experience selling an ECM to a customer in 2000, Tom sold off the alternator, starter and CV joint line and refocused the business exclusively on rebuilding and selling ECMs. Today, Nations Parts Corp. has 15 employees and occupies a 20,000-square-foot warehouse on a three-acre lot. Tom, his wife and two children live in the greater Houston area.
